Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Kim,
I live in the Davis area in Northern California where there is a
lot of clay soil and is very hot too. I remember one year, I watered once
a month after the tomato plants were established, simply because the soil
held on to the water for so long. This year, I am watering more often
because I have ammended the soil. What you may want to do is check your
soil about 6 inches down after 5 days and see how moist it is (especially
with your mulch). I hope you find out how to get rid of the BER, 'cause
store-bought suck!
Neil
