Egyptian walking onions will 'plant' themselves or you can use the
little top onions.  They also make bulb onions underground.  You can
use the green part like scallions, but it eventually gets pretty big.
Pull them/leave them is you decision, but they will increase as they
"walk" around your garden!  HTH
