Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Hi all,
I was going to start a new thread and ask this, but since this came up:
I have planted several types of squash that I have never grown before and
besides that some dragon tongue beans and other things that I have grown for
years and am just never sure when to harvest them. I either wait too long or
rob myself of the full benefit by harvesting too small.
I wish someone would write a book that took each variety of each category of
plant and explain in simple clear, but exquisite detail(I know that's an
oxymoron)and with beautiful close up, clear pictures of developemental stages
and harvesting procedures. As well as suggested uses. Is this too much to
ask? Probably.
I just thought if there is such a book out there, someone on the list might
know and if not, some of you are so knowledgable that you might just write
one.
Also would someone on this list and the OGL please take pity on someone who
can't cut and paste or even type very fast and post this for me on that
list(without this request)? If not I'll rewrite it in a day or two. I'm
being serious, I think there is a market for such a book eventhough it would
require updating every so often(just more money for the author)and I really
do believe from many of the posts(if you think about your knowledge)that the
ablility is out there.
Just a thought born of frustration, lack of time to find every bit of info on
everything I grow, and a little feeling of foolishness in not knowing when to
harvest a lot of things. Besides I'm in mourning over a huge squash plant
that bit the dust--I pulled it and found no entry wound or larvae.???
Can anyone tell me when to pick rolly polly squash? Turbin? Do you pick
tomatillos before they start to yellow?
