Sweet corn is like sugar cane to aphids. They show up, and there's more
sweetness than they can handle so it just goes right through them. Then
here come the ants, here come the ants. A few years ago I didn't get corn
stalks pulled out immediately after picking, and when we did go to pull
them out, the "honeydew" was so thick on the grass mulch it was like
walking on snowshoes. A terrible mess to clean off shoes so we could come
