Thanks for the advice. It's too late to start a corn crop here, I think, but I'll make my son happy next year. Maybe I'll give him a 4x4 all his own!
Can one get a jump on the season by starting corn from seed under lights? That's what I do with most of my seedlings.
I also appreciate the advice about the soil. I'm blessed with near perfect soil: pH of 7.0, sandy loam, etc. The organic content is also good. Phosphorus is too high, but it doesn't seem to affect the plants. In fact, my house was built on a former corn field.
