container / small-sized varieties

Jennifer,
I have grown a number of veggies in containers and in raised beds
in my back garden (I live in the city). The list would be very long
if I posted it all here, but in general I've noticed many compact
varieties of various vegetables, and others which grow upright
naturally so would not take up much room. You may wish to check my
garden journal at my Web site to see the varieties that I've used and
to get some ideas from that. This includes things like squashes,
tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, okra, corn, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, peppers,
lettuce, tomatillos, chard, spinach, peas, beans, garlic, onions,
leeks, and so on.

Obviously a lot of this depends upon exactly how small a space
you're dealing with, but a very nice combination may be obtained from
a compact area. It sounds as though you are already using a nice
bush variety, and you can keep that in mind as you look through some
of the mail-order sources for other items.

I hope this helps a bit,
Joan
