I've noticed the baby squashes that have formed and the female flowers look like they're about to bloom. My concern is that any male flowers have already bloomed and fallen off!! Are more male flowers supposed to bloom at the same time as the female flowers? Cheryl Indiana, Zone 5 >>> Stephanie D Green <symphony7@JUNO.COM> 06/13/97 07:17am >>> On our squash at least, the female flowers bloom on the end of a baby squash. It looks like a tiny baby squash for a few days and then it gets a bloom on it that opens up to be a big golden yellow flower (on all three varieties we have). Does anyone know if cucumbers are self pollinating or if you also do them by hand like squash?
