On our squash at least, the female flowers bloom on the end of a baby squash. It looks like a tiny baby squash for a few days and then it gets a bloom on it that opens up to be a big golden yellow flower (on all three varieties we have). Does anyone know if cucumbers are self pollinating or if you also do them by hand like squash?
