You wrote with questions about wood ashes. (You knew that!)
In your place, I would use the ashes as a top dressing around those plants
from which you eat the seeds. Tomatoes, squash, pepper, brassicas
(flowers,).........
Don't put ashes around plants that you don't want to bolt to seed, (greens,
et al.)
I seem to remember that ashes can cause potatoes to scab,or, or....
I also understand that it is not cool to use ashes from "slick paper" ads
with color pictures because of possible heavy metal contamination from the
dyes...(Dore the alarmist?)
It's always best to check these things out with your own
research!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
