Re: What to plant now in PNW


You can plant a lot right now: beets, onions,squash, carrots,corn,beans,
radishes, etc.

I live in S.Oregon and we don't get our first frost till about Oct 15. By mid
July I'll be starting more broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, spinach,
lettuce, parsnips etc. for fall crops. The Kale and the parsnips actually
taste better after a bit of frost.

Even if you get a mid to late September first frost where you live, you still
have plenty of time for beans, beets, carrots, onions, radishes and even corn
if you choose those shorter season varieties like Polar-Vee which is only
sixty something days.
