Hello, When I was preparing the soil in my squares I never added any wood ash, as Mel recommends in his book, because I didn't have any available. Last weekend I received a 5 gallon bucket of wood ashes and I was wondering if I could still use it. Does anyone know if I can use it as a top dressing around my plants or should it be dug into the dirt? Is it too late into the season to use it?
