The right toxicant for spider mites


Martin Halterman said that for use against spider mites,

Yes, folks, kelthane is the pesticide for use against arachnids (the
hardbodied clan that includes spiders *and* mites and spider mites).  For
heaven's sake, don't apply malathion:  it enhances their reproduction, not
exactly the goal you have in mind.

They're tough cookies, but kelthane will handle them.

Malathion, and most other contact insecticides, work against--you guessed
it--insects.  Not arachnids.
