Hi Shawn and Toni,
Wouldn't a 50/50 mix of sugar and borax work to kill the ants? We use it on
the kithen counter every June and it works great. You would want to place it
in one of their regular paths and I guess you would want to cover it since
it will be outside. We just mix it up and put it in a jar lid and set it on
the countertop. It should work in about 2-3 days. Keep your pets away from
it! In fact, try putting it in something with very tiny openings so only the
ants can get it. No need to poison the birds either.
