Goat manure

I don't know about elephant manure but I *swear* by goat manure. I
loaded up a garbage can from a stall cleaned by a friend who raises
goats and mixed it into one of my 4x4 beds before I planted my spring
flowers and vegies . . . 6 weeks later, everything growing in that bed
is huge and healthy. My brandywine tomatoes are twice the size of the
ones in my other bed (planted from the same 12-pak the same day) and an
errant bean seed that didn't sprout last year came up looking like the
one from the fairy tale. My flowers are covered with blooms twice the
size of the other garden. The only difference in the two sections is
the goat manure. I'm going out next weekend for another load . . .
since it isn't hot, it doesn't need to break down and so can be mixed
into growing gardens. Another friend who raises children, gardens, and
goats regularly dumps wheelbarrow loads onto her flowers, fruits and
vegies. She has the most fantastic garden I've seen yet and her
strawberries this year are the size of teacups. Goats are generally
more accessible than elephants for the average gardener . . .
