Copper Planters

Does anyone know if flowers will have any problem planted in copper
planters? I'm thinking of using some oversized rain gutters as flower
boxes and wondered if the copper was a problem.

Also, since it's been pretty nippy I was wondering if 45 degree nights
and 65 degree days would slow my garden down much.
