Sq. Ft in south Carolina

Good day to everyone on the list,

Earlier this spring I was asking a plethora of questions to the list to
help me plan and start my first square foot garden. Now that the fruits of
my labor are showing up in full force I thought I would message the list to
say "thank you" and let you know of the great things you helped me grow.

I started small since this was my first try and I built three raised beds
from 2"x12" pine (I know it won't last, but this was experimental) and made
them 2' wide by 4' long. I have raised 2 kinds of lettuce earlier as well
as some carrots and radishes. I'm currently picking some of the bell type
peppers as well as the 4th of July and the Sweet Tangerine tomatoes (not
alot but 1 or 2 a week). The first picked tomato was of course the
tastiest I've ever had.... <grin>

Anyway I'm still waiting on the Park's Whoppers and the Big Boy's to get
larger and red, but all is well in very hot South Carolina. Thanks for all
the help and suggestions, I put them all to good use and am enjoying my
Square Foot garden to the fullest.

King regards,
Keith Emery in South Carolina (zone 7b)

PS. With the good comes the bad and my bad was the tomato horn worm, what a
disgusting insect. Each night for the past week I go out on seek and
destroy missions finding this nasty critter and squishing him with a
fervor....
