Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
This is the first year I have grown berries, and I have started with four
olallie berries (variety of blackberry) from corners of a sqft garden and
leading out on wire trellises. Now, here is my problem: some of the canes
that have grown about three feet so far have flowers blossoming on them and
even fruit forming. From what I have read, it's the second year canes that
do this.
Should I pinch off the flowers as they form so that I will have some second
year canes next year? Or what? I'm not sure what USDA zone I live in, but
it's on the edge of Sunset zone 7 in the southern coast range of Calif.
