Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Hear, hear!
Mine is a REAL 3 and a half inches wide model; it is tough and nimble,
although more expensive than the True Temper and other brands, since it is
imported from.....(Yodel-odel-lay-hee-hoo!)....Switzerland! Johnny's and
Peaceful Valley carry them, although Johnny's may only have the 5 inch one
(it also comes in a 7 inch model, and up to eleven inches for the wheel
hoe....)
But those who take Mel's advice 100% and use weed-free ingredients for their
Melsoil mix, should have just about bupkiss in the weed department, since
all weed seeds will be buried under several inches of weedless, wonderful
Melsoil!
Frank---has a mix of beds with, and beds without, so thinks you can put weed
freedom and the time it saves on the benefit side of the Melsoil raised bed
ledger....:-)
BTW, if these fat little weeds are purslane (Portulaca oleracea) then they
will reroot easily so should be removed to the compost pile, or even the
salad bowl, where they are a delicious and nutritious addition to the green
part of yer diet....:-) Eat yer weedies!
