All,
I sympathize with those of you who have had rabbit attacks.
Where I live there are two wild / ferrel cats that keep the rabbit
numbers down. Although I dislike cats, during Winter I put food out for
them. Works well for us.
However recently there has been an explosion in rabbit numbers. To my
horror on Friday my spinach and lettuce, till then finally up to three
inches tall, were all eaten down to one inch stalks.
Result was five transgressors dispatched to the great warren in the sky.
(trapped four and air rifle on the other).
36 hrs later traps all removed, its back to the cats to maintain the
status quo. I dont like culling rabbits but all the Renadine - fox
smelling stuff, Lion dung, pepper sprays and so on, have never worked
for me.
BTW I have observed the wild cats avoiding the trap boxes, so I dont
worry about them getting caught. Cant say the same about hedgehogs
though.
regards
Brian
