This seems to come up on the list every once in a while. It seems like
about half of the respondents pinch off suckers, and the rest just leave
them be.
I just leave the suckers. This year I'm VERY glad that I did because we
had 10 hailstorms (yes, 10!). The hail knocked off a lot of the main
vines, and I'm very thankful that tomato plants produce suckers so that I
will still have some new vines and tomatoes!!!
