Re: Tomato plant suckers

If you're trying to trellis the tomatoes, then yes, you need to prune
the suckers off, practically every day. The Victory Garden (PBS Show)
grows their tomatoes with two main lines on each plant to help provide
shade against sun scald. I grow my tomatoes in large cages and I let
most of the suckers grow because I have big problems with sun scald when
I trellised them last year.
As far as the tomato flowers question, I would just leave the flowers on
at this point. Your plants are big enough now to flower just fine and
eventually produce fruit. Not all flowers, esp. when they're young will
produce fruit. At least that's been my experience.
