Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Hi,
I'm new to this list and square foot technique, although I've been gardening
for a few years. As Mel's book says, I've probably been planting too much.
But, we can and freeze a lot of tomatoes, pickles, corn, peas, etc. Plus, I
store potatoes, celeriac, carrots, etc. in a small root cellar.
I like the idea of not needing to rototill and weed so much ground. But,
this square foot method seems to be aimed at small gardens, like just a few
squares.
Does anyone use this method on a larger scale? I've been trying to estimate
how many squares I would need and come up with 30 to 40. Does anyone use
this method on this size or larger?
I'm also wondering on how well this method would work for potatoes. Mel's
book does not mention potatoes. Has anyone planted potatoes in squares?

Thanks,
Rick
