Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Every year, we plant a few things in 5-gallon buckets to supplement the
raised beds; although, we've never tried to transplant anything that big
later. I can tell you what does well in them. Cukes do fine as long as you
get a compact variety; they're usually labeled as being good for containers,
and we hang them from the fence to avoid trellising difficulties. Peppers
of all kinds do well, but you have to remember to water them daily (cukes
are thirsty too). Both varieties of tomatoes do well in buckets, but
determinate ones will be much easier for you to transport. I've heard
cherry tomatoes are ideal for containers, except they do sprawl.
Hope that helps
