May I make a point? Or two...
This happens a lot, so I don't want to pick on one person or post.
1) ListBot does not refer to messages by number and date as other Lists do.
Not that it would be fun to check archives.
2) No Line or two to refreshmemory...
3) Is this strawberries under tree? Subject is strwberries... Reply is about
tree....
Don't answer... I only illustrate a concept.
4) Manners have an (often forgotten) logical origin.
In a group, holding up 300 to have # 301 tell # 302 thank you ends up
backwards.
Thank yous on large Lists ar:
1) TIA (Thank You In Advance)
2) Fit in as an aside in another topic later as a BTW (By The Way)
3) or a report on how well it worked or where you found it cheap or something
for content's sake.
-------------------------------------
While we are on it... I have a problem.
Farmer has indicated there was a complaint about some of my mail.
Seems my mail program, if I reply, puts Re: [Xxxxetc]
The brackets cause some folk's mail program to see it as non alphanumeric, and
puts it to the front of the mail for his/her day.
He/she complained, it makes following a thread difficult.
This post was he__ to find. I read alnost all of them...
The Farmer said it made my posts "Inacurrate" in Subject.
The complaint I found and had passed up... was title "Paper Pots."
Somewhat ironic, eh?
Days of research, (and I do this for other groups, but this has never come
up...) and I have found some program servers say, "If your mailer adds Re: or
[] it's OK, but don't put additional..."
Should I:
1) Report that I've looked into it as the Farmer requested?
2) Manually edit all Replies, for someone who cannot change even a subject to
reflect anything, but will write me and the poor Farmer.
3) Get different softwarwe to coform.
4) Tell him/her to "adjust his/her software, why should I...
5) UnSub (I got a letter just yesterday, applauding my humor and bemoaning
another UnSub that was due to a slew of complaints, but turned out to be two,
and has caused a migration of several members.)
6) Ignore everything in this Post.
7) Other...___________?
Bil/9.4973, but rarely warm...
