>As I was replanting various squares today, I noticed some of last year's
broccoli had survived and was resprouting from where I had cut it off at
ground level.  I'm tempted to let it grow and see whether or not it will
produce good heads. Anyone tried that? Results?

One book, and my experience says:
Keep it.  You will get several mini-heads, once the main one is cut (course,
you cut the WHOLE THING!)

Great for salads, stir fry, lasagns, pizza, etc!  :>)
