Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Greetings ATWDS,
I'm new here..just a comment on the hair. My mother lives near Bloomington,
Ind. she has 15 acres. Her sister lives right next door. My mom put hair
from the local barber around her beds..her sister didn't...my mom's garden
was fabulous, her sisters..eaten alive!!! We actually saw some rabbits go up
to the beds and then turn around and run. The barber had washed the peoples
hair first.
I love Airdales!! I've got a soft coated wheaton terrier courtesy of the
local pound, and a border collie. One is missing a leg and the other is
missing her tail..soon we'll have a virtual dog!
I live in Santa Cruz County, Ca. In Boulder Creek. ..zone 9 here.
Fortunately the redwoods are around us not over us. Get full sun! Best of
both worlds, redwoods and the ocean is only a few miles away! I'm putting
six 2"x12"x12' raised beds in starting next week. I turned our front lawn in
to a large garden. For the last 4 years we've gotten corn, watermelons..you
name it! I homeschool (unschool style) 4 kids, one is in college now. They
have taken many organic gardening classes at our local organic farm Camp
Joy, including bee keeping, cheese making and spinning. However, I am
generally the one that does the planning and planting. I'm a soap maker,
making some soap scented with tomato, cucumber, lettuce and melon fragrant
oils this season! Salad soap!! I use my own lemon verbena and mints in the
soaps too.
Are there any other No. Ca. people on the list?
I see that Bill is in the city..My DH and I are going to the Red Vic on the
Haight in April for a weekend! We are in the city frequently...if you are
ever in our area Bill stop by!!
Here is a site that I found; http://www.internettomatoes.com interesting!
