Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
With "pretty much available" material we made a sort of trellis arch between
two raised beds at school. We have 4 pair of beds 3' x 12'. I thought it
would be neat for the kids to have bean tunnels over part of the length of
the beds. So, got 4 of those metal fence posts for the wire fencing and put
2 about 3 feet apart on the inside edge of a pair of beds, then used 2
pieces of 3/4" PVC that we found on the grounds and arched them from the
posts on one bed to the posts on the other. We covered the top with
flexible wire fence. The potential was great and so were some bugs that
loved to eat little bean plants. The dream never materialized. Last summer
beans grew a little better, but still not what I hoped for. We have done a
lot to improve the soil, so this summer we have high hopes!

Even without beans, the arches are fun to walk under.
