Is there Big Lots in Northern CA I wonder? Anyone know? I am just starting a
garden and Didn't have $$ for anything except the compost and the peatmoss
and plants- so I watched to see where the sanitation depts do their twice
yearly collecting of large items. In Ca you can set out appliances - all
kinds of big junk, etc. People throw away wood, Pipes- everything you can
imagine. Have collected enough stuff to build frames ,trellis, and found
many large containers.Lots of bailing and chicken wire and even huge clumps
of agapanthas and daylilies that someone had thrown out while
relandscaping(gasp!a sin!I rushed them home and watered them down and dug
them in some loose dirt and they are recovering nicely) Anyway- this is a
great way to get materials for free. Havent heard it meantioned here
yet.-Teri
