Re: Planting by the signs

Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html

Hi I am new and have never planted by the moons phases, but growing up we
had old farmer neighbors from Arkansas-they grew everything by the phases of
the moon- they did other things by it too- cut their cows horns. castrated
their pigs, etc. My father finally decided to try it(being an old wheat
farmer from Oklahoma)and fairly competitive about his gardening ) with our
half acre garden, and the results were pretty amazing as I recall. They used
the Farmers Almanac- available still at feed stores. Might be worth looking
into. Me? By the time I was 18 and moved out- I wanted nothing to do with
farming or raising livestock anymore, but here I am at the ripe old age of
41- trying to remember what I forgot and being absolutely obsessed with
growing things! Funny how the circle closes.-Teri
