Re: Planting by the signs

For our region, the growing season is so short and the planting
window so narrow that we would seldom have an opportunity to plant
a garden if we only planted under favorable signs.  But it is
often possible to plant by phases of the moon.  The usual
procedure is to first find the planting time for your area for the
crop you want to plant, then look up the favorable lunar phase
within the planting window, then find the favorable signs within
the favorable lunar phase.  There are charts that have it all
worked out for you.  Many people like the Old Farmers Almanac.  I
prefer "Llewellyn's Moon Sign Book 2000 and Gardening Almanac"
available at Border's and Barnes & Noble.  I once wrote an article
on this with lunar phases (but not moon signs) published at:
