Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Hi all. Regarding composting bins---a friend of mine has a neighbor who uses
straw bales for a "bin". Four will do, touching corners, creating a hole in the
middle. The great bonus here in Colorado--or any cold winter place---is that
she puts a pane of glass over it to keep the heat in and in the Spring puts her
seedling trays down in it (under the glass) and uses it like a greenhouse!
Cool. Straw bales are about $4 each. Pane of glass??? costs vary. I think
this is a fantastic idea! Cheap and efficient. The straw also decomposes over
time and adds to the compost mixture. And, if you are looking for a black
plastic bin--Costco has them for $33. Lorri in Parker, CO where we had a FOOT
of snow meassured on a small table in our back yard this morning!!! Yikes! Zone
5 or am I in Alaska?!
