I've never heard of any such rule. I almost always plant vegetables in even
numbers. No superstition; with the mathematics of the square foot system,
things naturally work out that way for me. Can't say that i've suffered any
problems that can't be attributed to other explanations.

As for planting by the moon, one thing that i've heard is that the tides
affect ground water as well as oceans and bays. Could be something to it.

BTW, if your aunt plants in odd numbers, and she gives you an odd number of
raspberries, she'll be left with an even number of plants. 8-|
