My first thought when I read this was: "good luck!"
Bermuda grass is so invasive that it will find ways to grow around,
under, over, and into the weed cloth! I have Bermuda grass also, and
unless you use herbicides of some sort to try and combat it every
year, you must simply persevere and dig out the underground roots and
runners as much as possible. If you keep up with this, you will be
able to have a garden that's quite nice.
I tried weed cloth in a part of my garden, too....didn't phase the
Bermuda. It just found ways to grow over and under the stuff so that
it ended up on the other side of the weed cloth anyway...a 3 foot
width of it.
Bermuda never quits! You must declare WAR on the stuff!
Keep on working at it,
Joan
