Re: Fennel


Hi Susanna:

I've never grown fennel for the bulbs (or for the seeds, come to
think of it!), so I don't have any direct experience with it, but
Eliot Coleman (in _The New Organic Grower_) recommends spacing of 10"
(on center) in rows. He gardens intensively, so I'd think that one
plant per 12" square would do fine. If you try it, let us know how it
works out, OK? Fennel is on my list of plants to try someday, but I
don't think I'll get to it this year. Hope this helps.
