Hi Francine:
A good, inexpensive source of information on this topic is "Growing
Garden Seeds" by Rob Johnston, Jr. which costs $2.50 and is available
from Johnny's Selected Seeds --> http://www.johnnyseeds.com <--
Other excellent, but more expensive books on the subject are: _Seed
to Seed_ by Suzanne Ashworth, _Breed Your Own Vegetable Varieties_ by
Carol Deppe, and _The Heirloom Gardener_ by Carolyn Jabs. Hope this
helps.
Happy trails.....
