Dennis: I've been using wall-o-water for several years now. They do work well as far as moderating day and night temps early in the season when the weather is unsettled. They will not do much as far as warming the soil. And if the soil remains cold the plants will just sort of sit there until it warms up. Therefore I use a black plastic mulch to warm the soil in conjunction with the wall-o-water. Usually put out the plastic around March here. Mike A.
