I am thinking of planting Yukon Gold potatoes again this year. Last time I
did was 3 or 4 years ago. At that time, the potatoes had what I can only
describe as "blackheads"--small, black spots that went down into the potato
about 1/4 inch and were about 1/16" in diameter. As I recall, these were
more obvious after the potatoes were cooked. I never did find out what this
was. I don't think it is normal for this variety as the ones I buy at the
grocery store do not have this. Does anyone know what this is or know of an
internet site where I can find info on potato diseases? Should I avoid
planting potatoes there again, at least for a while? The "potato bed" has
since been either fallow or planted in annuals for a cutting garden.
TIA,
Karen, zone 3 and still under lots of snow
