Hi Gloria, > Please, please....I am so new to this group. What is Remay? > gloria Reemay is a brand name for spun polyester fabric, randomly overlaid polyester fibres bound together in a thin sheet. It is light and porous, letting both water and air through but not insects, and it's most common use is as a floating row cover over crops to provide protection from insects (and in my experience even marauding deer!). It is also useful for some protection from intense sunlight and provides some heat retention, although not much. Most often white, it comes in many grades of heaviness for different applications and is sold under several brand names. Reemay is one of the best known brand names and is virtually a synonym for spun polyester fabric. BTW, a floating row cover is simply one that requires no support - it is laid directly upon and held up by the crop. Welcome to the SQFT Gardening List. :-) ____________________ | | | Bob Carter | Kootenay Bay, BC, Canada | bcarter@awinc.com | Zone 6b |____________________| Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy.
