I sent this message earlier and it bounced so I'm assuming it never made it to
the list the first go. Apologies if it is a duplicate posting. Bob

When my tomatoes are ready for the garden, hardened off to cooler temperatures
but not yet full sun, I put them out near where I'm going to plant them and
cover them with reemay. In the morning I take the reemay off for an hour or two
the first day then cover them up again for the balance. I keep doing this for
4-5 days, increasing the uncovered period until they're used to the full sun.
I do the same thing with peppers, eggplants, etc., especially basil, which is
very sensitive to UV light and burns easily. I find it an easier way to harden
off to full sun than moving the plants themselves back and forth.

Thank goodness for that! That was quite the rainstorm. At least it wasn't
snow, as they're still getting back east.
Happy Spring!
