I love to grow sweet corn, but up here where I live now, the crows clean
out
my crop so I don't bother with it (if anyone has any good advice here, I'd
really appreciate it!)
Mel Bartholomew had an idea concerning this that was in Organic Gardening.
He builds a chicken wire cage around his sq ft corn crop, uses one of the
shorter varieties (early Sunglow if I remember correctly) and then rests a
chicken wire "lid" on the top which he simply takes off to harvest the
ears. It seemed to make good sense to me and I am going to try it this
summer.
