This growing season, for the first time, I planted two plants of "Sweet 100" tomatoes. They have amazed me. I have never seen so many fruits ever on a tomato vine. They have just kept coming and coming. Ilene, my wife, loves them, eats them out of the bowl in the kitchen just like sweets. My problem now is that there is absolutely no way that they can all ripen. We are well into autumn and although there have not been any frosts yet, I guess they will start all too soon. There is no longer enough sunshine where they are planted outdoors to ripen. I heard, or read, somewhere that if you uproot the entire plant and hang it upside down in a basement or similar place the remaining green fruit will ripen. Has anyone else heard of this and tried it out. I know that you can make all sorts of pickles etc. with green tomatoes, but not for me --- thank you all the same.
