A few years ago I tried SQFT Gardening and it was great. The next year we didn't plant - got caught up with other things. This year we'd like to plant again, however our previously quiet undisturbed back yard is now fenced in and occupied by a retired racing greyhound, a whippet and a beagle mix (Cody, Cache, Buster). Everything in the yard gets urinated upon, and new things get a lot of initiation...even the barrel we use to pick up pine cones. My two garden spots are between the brick patio area and the actual yard, and would be the site of frequent "waterings" I'm afraid. We were thinking of converting those sites by raising them up on posts (like for wheelchair access or standing for gardening). The book suggests outdoor grade plywood (1/2 to 5/8 in.). My QUESTION is: How deep should we make the 4X4 boxes ? Am sure others have gardened around pets. Suggestions? TIA Lucy in NC blpleso@cconnect.net
