Hello SqFter's
I talked with Mel Bartholomew Friday evening and he wanted me to tell
you that he is glad that so many of us can get together and exchange ideas
about Square Foot Gardening and hopefully someday he will be able to join in
with us.
I explained some of you were looking for the book and tapes he has. He
said that you could get them both from him.
The book Square Foot Gardening is $16.95 plus $2.00 s&h
and the video tapes 1- All the Basics
2- Getting Started
3- Small Space Gardening
are available any one tape for $24.95
any two tapes for $44.95
and all three tapes for $59.95 plus $2.00 s&h
you can send a check to Square Foot Gardening

with the proceeds going to the Square Foot Gardeing Foundation.
Another thing we talked about was The National Square Foot Garden Party,
which had its first annual party last year. The purpose of the event is to
show how productive SQFT gardening is and to celebrate the 21th anniversary
of the technique.
This was held on the first Saturday in May last year and this year will be
Saturday May 3, 1997. (I am sure any time in May would be fine, just so we
get the word out.) With the fire this past year Mel said he will himself not
be doing much at his home, but if anyone would like to host and invite
people to view their square foot garden it would be a very effective way to
introduce people to the program. **On a personal note, we had about 60
students and parents from my school attend and see the students gardens and
loved it.**
I spoke to Doreen Howard one of our list members who wrote up a square foot
garden "Tips Sheet" and one on "Hosting a SqFt Garden Party" which she said
could be distributed again this year for anyone interested.
We shall get this out to the list in the next few days.
I shall also post them on my web page by the end of the week.
I hope you found this interesting and helpfull. If I can be of any help to
you please E-Mail ME at gallus@flinet.com (do not use the reply to
message) and I shall do all I can to help.
Sincerely
-john Webster
