to recall that the worm will have many white appendages sticking up from its
body ..
perhaps 6 or 8 of them ... it is unmistakable .. they are large and obvious
... the
worms that I find in this condition are up on the plant, but going nowhere
... just
sitting there.

Looks like you did a pretty good job to me Ed. The only thing I would aqdd is
that they are usually in rows on the horn worms back and look very much like
what they are , the eggs of a parasitic wasp. Like you said they are very
obvious. You can't miss them.
