Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Some times I think that I am the elderly.
In several past posts I have described my methodology of building raised
beds of SCRAP 2X4s on their 3-1/2" sides and noted that this provides a
3-1/2" surface to sit on.
I chose this system because it's CHEAP and easy. The height is determined
solely by need and ambition as you just keep piling on boards, each of which
increased height by 1-1/2" (and, of course, shovel in another 1-1/2" of
soil.)
Bill's methodology using a chair sound like it works for him.
My father worked his row garden into his 80's and my grandfather, who
started a gardening service business around Dunstable, MA in his 70's, to
90.
I guess, like everything else in life, it depends on the individual, in
spite of the best efforts of our(?) govmnt.
