You do
need to have drainage holes. You also need to put a layer under the soil
... I recently read to keep the weight of the container down, instead of using
rocks or clay shards, use packing peanuts. Just be careful you don't use
the new corn-starch based peanuts -- you can tell by dipping them in
water. If they disintegrate, they aren't
Styrofoam.
You
will also want to fertilize more frequently, with a more dilute solution, since
you will be watering more frequently.
