Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Well I can't give you a lot of specifics, but I have grown peanuts in a square
foot garden or actually my neighborhood squirrel did. I had a really nice
garden and suddenly noticed a weed that I did not recognize had crept in. I
don't know why I didn't immediately pull it out, but it looked interesting so
I let it stay. Well, after a while it looked kind of familiar and yes when I
turned up the dirt at the end of the summer, I had peanuts. Only a few
because it was kind of smashed behind a tomato plant, but interesting. I'm
sure that if you use the space given in a seed package (I think I've seen them
before) for between the plants as your square foot distance (that ususally
seems to work for me), the kids should have a lot of fun trying this. Can't
be too hard if the squirrel gardeners can do it (he sure doesn't spend a lot
of time working on the garden!, just planting). Lauren
