Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
Hello all
Can anyone tell about those little (cheaP 10-20$) meters
for doing NPK or PH testing.
Do they work at all? Okay but crude? Really great?
I have amended my soil (clay) 12 ways from sunday.
City provided compost (should have sifted it) my
own compost, vermiculite, some ashes, some peatmoss.
But each bed was made at a different time and was
amended differently. I have already noted that
tomatoes work better in one bed then in the next
bed 4 feet away. So I want to test my beds.
I don't care if the accuracy is not accurate to
n decimal places. A simple PH acurate to a whole
number or NPK close to 10% of real would be good
enough. Providing bags to the local University
to do the tests sounds cost prohibitive.
So what can you tell me about these meters?
And/Or compare them to the test tube chemical
kits I have seen on the market?
Thanks in advance for any replies. - Ron Souliere
