Square Foot Gardening List - http://www.flinet.com/~gallus/sqft.html
I've starting quite a few seeds for my garden this year and was following
Mel's recommendation to plant one seed per hole to eliminate thinning work
later. Some of these single seeded ones did not germinate, so I replanted
those seeds with more than one per hole, assuming the seed viability was
low. When I put more than one seed per hole, the plants seemed to
germinate quicker and at a higher rate. I didn't thin right away and was
amazed to see that the plants from the multi-seeded holes were growing
faster and better than the exact same plants from the same seed packets
that were single seeded ONE MONTH earlier.
Have any of you noticed something similar?
Jennifer
