Last year my Kentucky Wonder pole beans grew like gangbusters and
every seed came up. This year I switched to Blue Lake and am having
germination problems. I soaked the seeds overnight and stuck in about
thirty. I got about eight sprouts, four of which the critters ate.

Hi Katherine,

This year I did not soak my Blue Lake seeds nor innoculate them and it seems
that I've had better results than I have had in the past when I did
both...how do you figure???  Did you plant bush type? Try planting a square
without soaking, if you have the room, and see if you can tell the
difference.  For me, I would have to say that it has probably had more to do
with the temperature/weather. My garden overall has done SO much better this
spring than last.

Juliana

Hi Juliana
All I have are pole beans. No wait, if I think about it I have some blue lake bush beans stuck in my refrigerator somewhere. So I'll give them a try.
